Charles Edward (Charlie) Sharp

 

Charlie passed away peacefully in his home, with his loving wife Barb present, on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021.  Charlie was born on January 31, 1948, in Knoxville, TN, to Roy and Anna Ruth (Smith) Sharp.  His family relocated to Ft. Wayne when Charlie was young.  He attended high school at North Side  and began working at a young age to help support his family.  Charlie was able to hire in at Tokheim, where he retired from.

Charlie enjoyed fishing and owned a home on Big Turkey Lake from 1984 to 1998.  Throughout his life Charlie loved Chevys and was able to own quite a few of them including a beautiful ‘57 Belair that he showed for a few years at area car shows.

Surviving are his wife, Barb Herb Sharp, children Michael (Suzanne) Sharp, Brian (Esmeralda) Sharp, grandchildren, Ashley (Doug) Welty, Porcha (Josh) Ricks, Cody (Annette) Sharp, Madelyn (Ben) Wunderlich, Emily Sharp, Samuel Sharp, and Isabelle Sharp, 8 great grandchildren, brothers Jim Sharp, Dale Sharp, William Sharp, and his sister Judy.  Charlie was proceeded in death by his father, Roy Sharp, his mother, Anna Ruth Redding, stepfather, Ray Redding, and brothers, Roy Sharp Jr., and David Sharp.

Funeral service is 1:00 pm at Tom Mungovan Funeral Home, 2221 S. Calhoun St., on Friday, September 17th, with viewing beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery
