Joan Elaine Alexander

Joan Elaine Alexander, passed away Monday September 12, 2022, surrounded by loving family.

Born on June 23,1936, to John and Maxine Kuck, she grew up in Wapakoneta, Ohio and moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, as a young adult. Over the years many knew and loved her as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, neighbor, or co-worker. Joan was creative, engaging, artistic, energetic, and industrious. She enjoyed music, gardening, garage sale-ing (both buying and selling), refurbishing, crafts, reading, and just hanging out with friends. Maintaining connection with family and friends through the years came naturally through her easy laughter and willingness to interact. Receiving an envelope sporting hand-written calligraphy was a promise of a letter, card, or note from Joan. More recently, her computer and phone connected her with those further from home.

Joan leaves behind six children: Jim Boyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jenet Howard of Lakewood, Colorado, John Boyer of Ossian, Indiana, Jane Johnson of Scottsdale, Arizona, JoAnn Tietz of of Bend, Oregon, and Jeff Boyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, there significant others as well as ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry Kuck, first husband Jim Boyer, second husband Ned Alexander, and 3 infant grandchildren.

A celebration-of-life open house is planned for Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Avalon Church, 1212 Lower Huntington Rd, Fort Wayne from 2pm to 4pm for family and friends.
