Valentina Ybarra

70, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at her home in Fort Wayne, IN after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.

Born in Paulding, Ohio on August 14, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Guadalupe (Hernandez) Martinez. Valentina married Arturo Ybarra on April 12, 1969, they celebrated 51 years together. She was a devoted wife, mother and along with her husband, co-managed Ybarra, Inc for many years. Prior to retirement, she worked as a teaching asst. at Waynedale Elementary. Valentina had a passion for cooking, gardening, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was extremely proud of her family; they were her pride and joy. She had a warm, friendly and inviting personality. Also, touching many lives with her generosity and kindness to everyone she encountered.

Valentina is survived by her love Arturo Ybarra; daughters Tracy (James) Williams, Misty (Alphonso) James, Holli Ybarra; sons, Brian (Meredith) Ybarra, Joel Ybarra, Michael (Yanet) Ybarra, Marc Ybarra; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Valentina is also survived by sisters, Lupe (Ray) Contreraz, Esther (Joe) Rangle, Phyllis Martens, Lisa (Tim) Bermejo; and brothers Nick Martinez, Raphael (Jenny) Martinez, Martin (Gloria) Martinez, Johnny Martinez.
